Gratitude

I’m entangled in the kelp of a Selkie obsession; and I don’t want to be rescued!

Here’s the beautiful Selkie sculpture – called ‘Ocean Mother in Flow’ – that I selected from the wonderful collection of Alice Grey @selkie_arts and received only 24 hours after ordering. She swam inland to me so quickly from the north east coast (one of my soul places and favourite regions of England) that it makes me even more sure that we were meant for each other!

My friend @becfowler_creativecovenarts and I were on the same wavelength that a piece of Alice’s work needed to accompany my personal and creative journey working with the tale ‘Sealskin, Soulskin’.

The story is taking me in a direction that I hadn’t planned. It’s upended my intentions for the spring months in terms of my creative theme. But when something calls from the depths I have learned to listen and respond. Now to get painting, felting and playing with paper clay!

I’m involved in a wild deep dive, I know that for sure, and I’m thrilled to have ‘Ocean Mother in Flow’ for company.

I wanted to share some images with you of how beautiful and shining she is here in Bali. She came right on time, at the onset of a wave of challenges, and wearing her day-by-day, touching her, and meditating with her presence has been a powerful gift.

She calls to me from the depths of my soul- that sense of longing or belonging. The feeling of home. Diving to the depths of your true, authentic self. Guiding me along the path of feeling at home in my own skin. Realising the truth of yourself. The shadows as the whole.

Swimming beneath a starry sky, as above so below. The cosmic waters, diving below to be reborn anew. Again and again. Shedding the skin to unravel your truths, to slip back into it when you find yourself.

Shape shifting between the world’s, the doorways. I am her, and she is me. Each dive takes us deeper, to ourselves, our wild souls, our divinity. I cannot fear what lays ahead- it unravels more of me- the sisterhood calls me home. Following the flow of the flow of the water, wherever it may take me, knowing it is the ebb and flow of life. The heart and soul of the Selkie is wild and free 💙

My beautiful Selkie arrived today from @selkie_arts and she brought with her a friend for the journey. Much as I have found in my life, the bonds of sisterhood and friendship can see you through any journey ❤️ Thank you Alice for capturing the beauty of the wild soul of a Selkie so perfectly ❤️
