When I work with clay I never really have a fixed idea of what I’m about to do. I work intuitively and let the clay and my fingers work together and lead the way. Today I started off with the idea of Persephone and perhaps creating something to welcome in the Spring. I was very surprised when these Yoni shapes appeared and even more surprised when I realised they were to be Yoni lamps or candles. As soon as they have been fired and oxided I can’t wait to start experimenting with wax and lamp oil. At some point in the future it would be lovely if they could adorn altars and special places.
